How do you get such monsters?
@NatureMC It's an AILSA CRAIG onion, a sweet one.
I started with seeds indoors in January, so there was enough time to grow to this size. -

I started with seeds indoors in January, so there was enough time to grow to this size.@Hagukh I've never ever seen such a huge onion, and I live in the region of Zwiebelkuchen! 🤭

@meganL I've read that years ago and got a few selected EXHIBITION seeds from the UK for my first try.
But the onion shown is from regular AILSA CRAIG seeds, good enough for the garden, but not for garden show in the UK.
