A nice long morning run. it was quiet out there, a bit of light rain, and almost no other runners.
The course was the same as the past couple of weeks. The nasty incline out of Karlstrup Limestone Pit is getting easier: it's 80 strides steeply uphill, but I'm getting better at doing it controlled without burning myself out.
I took it easy, as my right leg still feels a little sore.
Distance: 21.71k
Pace: 5'49"Solrød Rundt Løbet in 13 days.
While my daughter and her athletics team trained relays, I did intervals on the tracks. It was hard eventually, and it was so much fun.
5:00 warm up
3 x 1:30 @ 5k pace
3 x 1:30 @ 10k pace
3 x 1:30 @ mile pace
+ some more at an easy pace because I wanted to
(1:30 recoveries in-between)On the last reps, I tried to out-sprint the young runners - and failed miserably. The kids are alright.
Distance: 5.80k
Pace: 4'56"Solrød Rundt Løbet in 10 days.

@askekammer Oof, I bet those mile pace intervals stung!

Did your leg hold up better to the constant turning left on the tracks today?

Just go clockwise every other repeat

I prefer #running in the morning - but with my daughter's athletics late on afternoons, my window for getting out has moved.
My body has not yet adjusted, though, so this easy run was hard. Heavy legs, tired body. It took some time to get warm, but in the end I found my groove and just enjoyed it.
I finished with 2k of what @nerdd calls AIT (Anarchistic Interval Training = YOLO-style improvised tempo run).
Distance: 10.01k
Pace: 5'21"Solrød Rundt in 8 days.

@askekammer @nerdd
Always nice when you end up being able to say you enjoyed the run.
For me that's the result most of the time fortunately!Interesting what a change in time of day can do.
I guess the timing of food intake and general tiredness makes a difference.Looking forward to Solrød Rundt

These days, I struggle a bit with motivation (have too little) and exhaustion (have too much). I don't worry about it, as I know I'll soon get back to an equilibrium - but it does make long runs like the one I did this morning more cumbersome than they should be.
At times, it felt like doing chores, and at other times I got into the flow and just went with it. But I had to work for it today.

The struggle is real and motivation can sometimes be hard to find.
I hope you find some motivation with other routes, different drink/food for the run, or other things like that.
But like you say, it's just the current status and it will switch at some point soon, so it's ok.

Family schedules has not allowed for much #running this week, but this afternoon I finally got back on the track (literally).
Training speed, I did the Funky Fartlek with @coachbennett in the #NikeRunClub app. After 5:00 warm-up, it was 20:00 of playing around with pace and effort - but without knowing for how long or how far for each interval (so basically AIT). It was weird and demanding and fun!!
Distance: 5.12k
Pace: 4'53"Solrød Rundt Løbet in 2 days.

RACE DAY!
Today, I race Solrød Rundt. It's the local race in my little municipality, and it's nice. I'll race the half-marathon - but tbt, I'm more focused on my daughter's 3k (her first official race).
The course is nice. The weather is warm and humid. I won't chase a PR; rather, I'll make sure to enjoy this celebration of #running.
@folfdk will be here too, racing the 10.6k!

Solrød Rundt half-marathon done.
I knew the course like the back of my hand, and this was a nice race. However, because of the heat and humidity I had to put in a bit more work than usually; this wasn't exactly easy #running (but it wasn't too bad either). I enjoyed it, and it was fun to race the roads I run all the time.
All in all, I had a blast. (And my daughter crushed it on the 3k!)

Thank you for making me aware and "inviting" me to the race
