Well, Atari and C64 didn't need GPUs to program. And livecoding _some_ stuff doesn't need either (Pure Data for example for music).

The meaning of the terms "demo scene" and "live coding" might have changed since back then. I don't now.

I think a sweaty Bulgarian kid filled with yerba mate livecoding with Chicken Scheme on a Raspberry Pi is probably solarpunk, however.
