Today's gardening job is to make a plant spray out of the leaves I've taken off my tomato plants. I mixed the leaves with water and will let them soak for a day or so.
The tea will be full of a-tomatine, which is the alkaloid tomato plants use to keep pests (like caterpillars) at bay. I'll spray it on the brassicas later in the week to stop the dreaded munching beasts.
Tip: If you want to make the tea stick to the leaves a bit better, add a bit of soap.
