Bluesky has been down for hours

@airspeedswift I have to admit, I ended up closing down my account there.

It had the same issue as Threads where it feels like everyone I follow is removed from the algorithmic feed. I have to admit I don't want to swap back & forth between feed types.

That & it was feeling like a fair portion of the new content in the algorithmic feed was non-human.

It's a slight shame to miss out on some content there but, I'd rather not worry if I'm consuming bot content.

i had an account. to spy on developments. i posted once every few months. mainly to criticize bluesky. that it's run by cryptobros, is not really decentralized (which is the same problem with crypto: controlled by whales, imagine that), and therefore its fate is the same as twitter

then in october last year i was met with a "confirm your birthdate" screen

i logged out and haven't been back since
