    In 1987 Trump visited Moscow. Since then, "He has changed his mind about abortion and crypto, he has supported different political parties... but his dislike of America’s democratic allies and his preference for Russia have remained remarkably consistent."

    @anneapplebaum The Saudi #crypto connection is obvious, but the mutual investments in cornering #energy markets, should be a more obvious ploy to hold suspect - especially considering the Saudi's have been at war with the Houthi's for a decade, and Arabs with Persians, for a thousand years.

    Just the armaments alone, means heavy #FossilFuels #greed.

      Well... the 'pee tapes' were never disproven.

      To be honest, Trump would be incredibly easily caught in kompromat back in the 80s and 90s and probably the 2010s. It would be hard to imagine anyone more likely to get led into girls and money.

      @gsymon @dannyreving @anneapplebaum It’s definitely the pee tapes. 1987 in Moscow? The KGB was at peak power at that time. They got him on the best video stock that money could buy.

        @anneapplebaum
        Trump was never interested in Republicans but they offered him an easy way to get power. And from there he knew how to play the game. He used the Techies to connect the dots and offered them freedom to do whatever they want. A win / win situation - all others will lose!

          @anneapplebaum the worst is that US intelligence knew exactly who and what Trump is and let this all happen. He should have never been on the ballot in ‘24 after 1/6. They killed MLK but just let Trump and his family bleed us dry.

              Honestly I don't know that they'd need it. Trump admires fascist strongman types, he's always been obsessed with status among the Epstein class and hates that he's historically been looked down on by the wealthy and famous as kind of this crude bore that is only bedgrudingly allowed access because of his wealth (or perception of wealth previously).

              So what blackmail there is probably was given willingly, that's how it works. It's more of a pact amongst these types.

                Amongst liars and sociopaths the only means of verifying trust between themselves is through mutual blackmail. That way they know they're in it together, rather than merely pulling a con like they do on the "normies", they can have confidence in the material reality of the dirt they each have.

                    @anneapplebaum I just can't wrap my head around how he still is president. Russia can never replace Europe and Canada as allies, still he is going full speed deconstructing the architecture that US power has built and relied on since WWII.

                    Is he consciously doing this to the US or is it pure self interest? Americans must start thinking what happens post DJT.

                      @anneapplebaum this is juvenile conspiracy theory stuff. It really is.

                      Everything thing you think you have is barely even circumstantial. I’ve been to Moscow and changed my mind about Russia - am I also an agent ? Because none of the cheques have arrived yet .

                      Trump is 100% a selfish corrupt bastard, born and bred in the USA, raised on filthy money, like so many others. A bastard child of capitalist degeneracy.

                      Russia like him because of this.

                        A reasonable guess is that Putin holds something big on Trump ( what might that be...sex tapes?) and has threatened to release it before the midterms. Putin is desperate, he might have gone tough on Trump. Just my guess, of course.

                                Bracket the crypto and the real story is still there. Riyadh is fighting this on spreadsheets now: missiles near its hubs, Bab el-Mandeb shut to the north, and a rail-and-grid deal with the UAE that has no routes, no costs and no dates. This war is being priced, not fought.

                                  @anneapplebaum

                                  In July 1987, Donald Trump flew to Moscow with his wife Ivana after being invited by Soviet Ambassador Yuri Dubinin, who had first approached Trump at Trump Tower and later cultivated the relationship at a New York luncheon hosted by Leonard Lauder.[1] They told Trump it was about luxury tourism.

                                  According to former KGB officer Yuri Shvets, the KGB had spotted Trump years before and were fascinated by his absolute lack of patriotism or morals.

                                  Fits perfectly.

                                    Well... the 'pee tapes' were never disproven.

                                    To be honest, Trump would be incredibly easily caught in kompromat back in the 80s and 90s and probably the 2010s. It would be hard to imagine anyone more likely to get led into girls and money.

                                      In 1987 Trump visited Moscow. Since then, "He has changed his mind about abortion and crypto, he has supported different political parties... but his dislike of America’s democratic allies and his preference for Russia have remained remarkably consistent."

                                        @dannyreving @anneapplebaum maybe there is no kompromat. Maybe he is just a fool who happened to become to most useful idiot. On the other hand with Trump, little is needed. Money and Flattery.

                                          @anneapplebaum Thanks for posting. A smoking gun is not needed. The circumstantial evidence suffices.
