@Sharonbw One of my cats (Zuzu) does not wait for me to open the drawers. She does it herself. Also steals pens, pencils, & will close any door that is open & not blocked. So my life is somewhat open (all bathrooms & the used bedrooms). Having an attached garage and inquisitive cats is another challenge.
