    This is shameful discriminatory and misogynistic reporting.

    People aren’t choosing disability to be “cool”.

    Young women don’t have to “prove” to you that they’re sick.

    Disability rates are skyrocketing because we’ve left a disabling virus rip through the population for over 6 years.

    The insinuation that disabled women who post about their experiences are “entrenching a culture of economic activity” is ableism.

    They want to shame us into being silent about our suffering.

    Make noise.

    Let’s tell the Telegraph this disgusting article should be retracted

        @broadwaybabyto I'm neurodivergent. I wouldn't call it a disability, but sadly it definitely is. It shapes who I am and what I can achieve in life; who I can reach, where I can be, my mental health, anxiety, comfort, etc.

        And still, getting a fucking notarized sheet of paper that says so costs thousands, and requires a degree family involvement I don't have (and for my mental health, I'd rather not, anyway).

        Anyone who barks at the rise/normalisation of disabilities is robbing *us* of a place.

          @audiodude @broadwaybabyto my grandfather had Parkinson's and was dying of cancer and couldn't get a wheelchair. He definitely had "real" disabilities.

            @broadwaybabyto Murdoch Press.

            You know Fox? Rupert Murdoch began as a newspaper baron doing the same shit in the UK and Australia, and the Telegraph is one of his flagships.

            They're the worst level of right wing vomit generally, with a thin veneer of respectability because our countries didn't do 'mask off evil' like our US cousins until very recently (thanks to US dark money, most likely).

            This article is a good example of the old school 'mask on' fascism you'd expect from the Telegraph.
