I'm going to start labelling these delves into old jpeg folders as #JPegFolders.

This used to be my favourite apple orchard. It was north of Toronto, a great place to buy apples, pick during the season, and buy freshly made tarts and pies. Sadly, the owner died and, well, developers had wanted it for some time. The family wasn't so enamoured with the work it took to maintain the business. No more orchard.

The first time we drove on Vancouver Island, many years ago, I remarked to my fellow, who was driving, that a building had goats on its roof. "Naw, if you saw something, it was plastic." "No, there were goats on the roof." I made him drive back, we stopped in the parking lot of a little market, "you're right," he said.
That's how I felt when we drove by this. It's there, but explain it to someone so you don't sound crazy.

I posted the location information in the hashtags, but these birds are pretty ubiquitous along North American shorelines.
And, those of you who spend time on a beach know the "if I am still, the birds will do their own thing, but they know I am there, so when crossing right in front of me, they will run like crazy, then resume their normal activity."

It always amazes be that anyone from a place such as this city is not concerned about climate change and rising water levels. Have they never seen the riverfront?

The drive home was pretty interesting (see previous image). We parted ways with it as we turned into Nova Scotia from New Brunswick, and when we got back to the cottage, we got to see the weather system move across over the NB side of the bay. The weather moved left to right at a pretty impressive pace and it was really wonderful to watch. No rain on our side. (For more local folk, Baie Verte is off to the right, out of view here.)

Watching these two, I learned why gulls often hang around herons. When a heron catches a fish, gulls will try to be close enough to grab at slip-ups.

Early one morning in Algonquin Park.
This was out & out fog. Visibility kept changing as the breeze moved the air about. Now you can see the figure on the beach, moments earlier, you couldn't. What is really wild about this is that the water was a steep walk from the side of the road where we parked. At the car, it was a very hot day, blue sky with fog over the water. Walking down to the water's edge, we descended into white, the temp dropped from too hot to a sweatshirt would be nice.
