@h4ckernews as the comments suggest, this is not a "breaking record", as it's just a little more downloads than usual.
I'd be careful with the "it's because their no-AI stance".

@orange_lux I think the spike is so small because most people who care about no AI as a feature already have libre office installed.

@CaptainMalu exactly. For now, all I can tell from the graph is :
- LibreOffice is steadily increasing its downloads rate, and
- There is always a small spike of downloads whenever a new version is out.

@h4ckernews I went to look for, but couldn't find, a graph or table of download stats for previous releases, to see if this download number sits right on the expected curve (in which case maybe the "no AI" thing wasn't such a big deal for users) or if it was an outlier (in which case there is at least correlation and we could further investigate the cause). -

@kfogel @h4ckernews we're right on the expected curve

@orange_lux@eldritch.cafe Hah, I just ran across that HN comment myself and was about to follow up here about it, but you beat me to it :-). I really didn’t know which answer to expect, either, but this one isn’t surprising. Basically, LibreOffice is getting steadily more popular (as it should!) and this latest release is right in line with the existing trend. Congratulations to them – but the no-AI stance is probably not a big factor.

@h4ckernews
Enjoying Libre Office. Not as easy to use as MSoft but much more control when you learn how. Despite some non-intuitive unautomated features that can be a bit frustrating, I would never go back.
Even did my bit and donated to Libre Office. -
Absolutely the worst, even by hacker news comments standards.

@h4ckernews I were a city official, I would be concerned about all of the lawsuits that directly implicate city officials for allowing these on city streets.
