@ChrisPirillo this makes me so happy! I’m going to make my dad his own font for his birthday.
@gretchen let me know how it turns out!

@dl2jml @ChrisPirillo @exil_inselette The Code to generate these is there. And as the code is also looking for calibration marks - have you tried printing on A4 paper?
I haven’t, as I didn’t find time yet, but please: You’re sounding extremely entitled to something you’ve been given for free. How about helping to debug?
E.g., „I tried printing in A4, I expected this to happen, but I got this result - could you pleas take a look?“
@der_mit_ph @dl2jml @exil_inselette let me iterate.
-
@Rockerz would you rather me have expressed myself by designing another productivity app?
@ChrisPirillo I'd rather have you actually express yourself. Not using AI which everyone knows how destructive it is to the planet, to us humans and to our democracies' very fabric. I'd rather have you do the work yourself, learn, struggle, take time, a year if need be. I'd rather your hobby be the same while not destroying the ecosystems in the process. Vibecoding is like shooting a dog to get red paint. Congratulations, you now have bloody red paint and a dead dog. Slow clap from the audience.

@Rockerz thanks for the judgement, mate!

https://arcade.pirillo.com/fontcrafter.html
Having tested it extensively on my own manuscript, I can definitely say that it works.
Download the OTF and/or TTF when done!@ChrisPirillo Thats super cool! Thank you. I will definitely test that.

Download the OTF and/or TTF when done!@ChrisPirillo tried editing the pdf (a4) on procreate and using the resulting png but every row is misaligned in the detected characters, also instructions are wrong as row 2 is not allowed to be uppercase in the end. Process is smooth though, just very garbled result

@fedithom It's Chris. My money's on 100% vibes.

@jay would you mind sharing? For troubleshooting purposes? And could you clarify what you mean about instructions being wrong? You could do a second uppercase row by using row 3, if that's what you mean?

@j_bertolotti does anything?

@ChrisPirillo It works, sort of. However, some letters are hollow, or the wrong areas are filled in. And there are problems with A4, I had to choose Letter so that all letters were recognized in their box.
Maybe you have a hint for me, what to do better? Use a bigger marker maybe? ^^
-
Ah, I see. And it's a thing of pride? Weird,

@Sumire I need to troubleshoot this further. Would you mind sharing with me the A4?

@ChrisPirillo Sure. Here on Mastodon, or would an email be more helpful?

@Sumire those should be fine. Is that second one from the a4? Is that how the PDF came out? I can see the registration markers are getting clipped off.

@ChrisPirillo
I feel like we had a talk about this years ago, before LLMs, about the meaning of creativity in the "blogosphere" or whatever is was we called it back then.I'm not surprised you call this creating, but I am maybe a bit disappointed. It feels like stolen valor. Like Trump being proud of "his" Purple Heart or "his" Nobel Prize.
