@georgetakei The USA would actually have to give him to Den Hague. They never implemented the laws to handle war criminals themselves, any such military trials in the past were pretty laughful in comparison. Especially compared to how harshly they punish certain civilian crimes...

@georgetakei Unfortunately, the US never ratified the Rome Statute, and we passed the Hague Invasion Act specifically to foreclose this ever happening to US forces or politicians.

Moulton: I know active duty Marines who now refer to Pete Hegseth's department as the department of war crimes. That's because they do things like this, destroy civilian infrastructure, which, just to be clear, is a war crime. It's meant to hurt civilians.
This is the same stuff that we criticize Vladimir Putin for doing in Ukraine.
He doesn't know how to get out. So what is he doing? He's resorting to war crimes. It's an embarrassment.

@daft_wully @georgetakei Yeah. You missed stuff. I can't readily find a source for it since so much has happened and it's been a while, but Trump has definitely accused Putin of war crimes. I did a search and the assist agrees with me, but it's just full of the latest news with Trump being accused of war crimes. I doubt I can get through that noise to find it.
He especially did a lot of it during campaigning when he was pretending to be tough and could bring peace to Ukraine in like 10 min.
