I'm a clumsy oaf and idiot. Stripping the bed last Sunday to wash the sheets, I pulled too hard (or not hard enough) on the bedding I had too tightly tucked. The bedding resisted. My bare feet flew out from under me. I rose up and came down hard on my back. My thud and curse were heard throughout the house. Finally went to the doctor today, as I hobble and groan still. Who knew that socks could be such torture? CT scan showed compression fracture in my L3 and other stuff. Age and stupidity.
