I see a lot of anger motivated posts, from people claiming they really hate something.

@jwildeboer I prefer the secret third option: Hand scanner inside the store. Then I don't need to load or unload my cart at the checkout.
@chris @jwildeboer yes, that is a great option. I used to do that a lot when I still hauled my groceries with my bike trailer. I actually took the trailer in to the store and loaded it directly from the schelves.
But since I moved to the mountains I do most of my shopping on foot. -
I did 4 machines of laundry today and all socks ended up in pairs, no leftovers to worry about. It's now all on the drying racks and the smell of freshly washed laundry is making me feel good.
@jwildeboer You put eight socks in and got eight socks out?
I call BS, good Sir!

@ftranschel Actually it was 34 socks in and 34 socks out

The hate posts and the total love posts are IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) hard to overcome habits from the centralised "social" networks, where extreme posts get reach as the algorithms prefer outliers over average to provoke more interaction that allows them to sell more ads. ActivityPub and Mastodon are fundamentally different in that regard. Here we are people. Not influencers. So share more #MehPost, it's what makes us different. And better

@jwildeboer What's a Meh Post?

My electric bicycle is a cheap and simple no-name. It was less than €700 and its electronics are not very modern or comfortable. But it runs completely offline, has no Bluetooth or GPS or App and gets me from/to work and around town reliably since almost 2 years. It's truly meh and I like it that way
It uses more or less standard batteries that are cheap to replaee, though my original battery is still going strong, so no need yet to replace it.@jwildeboer i strongly prefer e-bikes with center motor. They sort of just scale up your input.
But e-bikes are a great way to get around town!

@rasmus91 Especially on snowy and ice covered bike lanes a front motor has its advantages too. And due to the lack of gears and stuff, it is far cheaper. You can even convert existing bikes with them. I get the advantages of a center motor for gravel ton mountain bikes, but for a city bike teh front is GoodEnough

@morph Just scroll up in the thread. The first post explains it.
