A few good ones:
* @sundogplanets is an astronomer who talks about space junk (and space junk that has become Saskatchewan junk)
* @mos_8502 posts about electronics and stuff, and is making a neo-retro game console
* @futurebird posts about ants with such joy and enthusiasm that you find yourself excited about ants too
* @sinituulia posts about cats and clothes and sewing and silliness
* @eclectech makes cute and silly pictures
* @moonrabbit makes raku ceramic spirits and friends

@tylerlwsmith hi there, I’d recommend to follow hashtags and particular bots. Its nice that you can make your individual timeline on Mastodon. Following hashtags also helps with finding likeminded people, that share your interests. Have fun!

But what I like is people who have different interests and experience.

The mediaeval historian who went investigating why eels where everywhere in records of the time.

The guy trying to work out why there is a faint am radio station replaying the same songs everyday, where there shouldn't be any signal

The bee keeper
The info sec guy
People doing niche hobbies
The retro computer people

Stuff I didn't know about, but have learnt from.

Add some artists, pet pictures, nature photos etc to cleanse

That's how I found most individual people I follow — by seeing their posts in my hashtag follow feed.
