I've never seen a single incident of actual mansplaining, that would have needed this chart, since "Do I actually care about this topic, or do I just want female attention?", would have already been enough.

@hauchvonstaub @someguy @sundogplanets
.
as an Autist, my experience is being told I’m mansplaining while simultaneously not being heard and the mansplaining offence was for stuff I do not think and never said but every NT person thinks all by themselves and the thing I said that they didn’t know they still don’t know.
.
There’s no sense mansplaining to some people.
.
howTF am I mansplaining when you didn’t know the thing before and you still don’t know it after

@sundogplanets For some reason this diagram reminds me of the TISM song "Use Your Delusion II". "The high ideals that you once had end up in your colostomy bag..."
@bms48 @sundogplanets lack of all reception.

I hear you.
I think the difference is your 'tone' when replying-there's no disrespect .@SnowyCA @Npars01 @sundogplanets Sadly I've seen Nicole yelled at recently. The problem is people sometimes just want to be social with experts - just show off they know something or ask a question. Depends on the user it seems, some are untouchable and think her replies in earnest are explaining. Not everything is a correction/explanation. Sometimes I think it's just "yes and..."
-
@howking
do you feel the need to explain?This seems more about making yourself feel more authoritative than making the other person feel better or more informed. Maybe just ask yourself if it really matters?
Also, for the specific example that the OP is referring to (ie. being a recognized authority on a subject and still being mansplained on that subject), your generic response doesn't really seem all that applicable.
@flipper @howking @sundogplanets Seems like they're agreeing.

My people! I'm sorry I happen to be a man.
@dadube @platypusparent @ministerofimpediments Careful folks!

@CatpayneWaffle @sundogplanets
Theoretically, in some alternate universe where women hold most of the power and have historically steamrolled right over any man who dared to know stuff, maybe. In the universe we actually live in though, womansplaining is not a thing.
@bruce @CatpayneWaffle curious - you know what you're doing? benevolent sexism. they are weaker so they need you to protect them - you're doing it now... they don't, we share power here, it's the modern era.

@jenzi @SnowyCA @sundogplanets
I don't see it as "yelling" but as a polite "please let me speak, without interrupting"
They are being kind, but firm, like every good teacher doing classroom management.

That is indeed sad....unacceptable.
I have have seen and experienced only, "yes, and...".....
To me that feels supportive ..not at all mansplaining -
