That is a bit unfair to say they are 'collaborating'.

FYI they also host a moderation list that automatically blocks many of the gov accounts, including this new ICE account.

Bluesky is very flexible and gives you lots of options to keep unwanted accounts away from your feed.

I will add, they do not have private profiles, which is still a problem and much requested feature.

a lot of other awful enshittification nonsense—e.g. constantly banning Palestinian accounts on-sight (even when proven to be verified), allowing the Trump regime to make tons of official accounts—seemed to all flow down from there

@FediTips I gave Bluesky so many chances, I was hopeful communities like Blacksky would flourish and push decentralization, but damn, it continually feels like a leftist honeypot there, just the successor of Twitter. Stuff like this, I worry Fedi is next for enshittifcation if servers like mastodon.social keep growing unchecked.

@almonds @FediTips The one nice thing with ActivityPub about resistance to enshittification is that things like GoToSocial exist. It's completely feasible for a normal user to spin up a single person instance and run it at a fairly low cost.

AT Proto stuff is complicated and expensive. I do server hosting for a business and am leery about touching all that. It's multi-layered for no reason, obtuse in documentation, and expensive as all get out to fully self host.

I think AP is a lot more resistant just because in comparison the barrier to entry is so low.
