Everybody should do this.
@rdnielsen Prank phone calls used to be a popular pastime for kids, especially at slumber parties. Perhaps the practice will catch on again.

@veronica_claire @rdnielsen you are not alone. They probably include garbage collecting and hand washing.

@rdnielsen There a a number of people who demonstrate how to do this purposely, mostly focusing on AI phone callers.
There are others, you would be surprised how many ways to do it there are—you get to be creative!
Here's one example:
-
@rdnielsen @rantanurmikka I've been following this guy's videos on Instagram, and they are absurdly funny. The interview ends with "Dana" saying bye endlessly because he keeps saying bye back, and the AI always needs to say the last bye.

@rdnielsen Destroy all the ai sloppers.

@rdnielsen That thing is meant to be intelligent? I think even Eliza came across in a more personable way than that!
For sure Eliza wasn't less intelligent than Dana Whitfield - I'd say a little bit less chatty.
I put the guys "sentences" into Eliza (of course not the original... https://masswerk.at/elizabot/)

@rdnielsen I really liked this. Chick Bongo is the best candidate for this role!

@goedelchen @rdnielsen I think that confirms my guess - Eliza's responses come across to me as less "phony" than Dana's.
But obviously Eliza wasn't coded as to be a job interviewer, whereas Dana was intended for that purpose. However its responses are still just taking a few words from the "interviewee" and constructing a sentence using them. I don't think it simulates understanding any better than Eliza did. -

@is0ph @veronica_claire @rdnielsen and being tragically confused at where your cotton candy went

If I am ever going to implementing a garbage collector I will now consider including raccoon in the name.
