@sundogplanets@mastodon.social that's so pretty and looks like so much fun!!

(also, I love your biking gloves!... I'm even a lil jealous <_<)

@aud Haha they were the cheapest ones at the local bike shop years ago. My hands and wrists are a lot happier when I wear gloves for biking, especially on dirt roads!

@sundogplanets I learned as a kid in Alaska, that I can't out pedal a moose! (And let the Kodiak bear have the salmon you just caught and perhaps he won't eat you too!)

@GoatsLive I had a mama moose and baby moose pop out of the trees in front of me while biking around here a couple of years ago. It was a pretty terrifying moment to realize that 1) I was WAY too close to a mama and baby and 2) I was not going to be able to out-pedal an angry mama moose. Luckily, they were not at all offended by my presence and they calmly trotted away.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social that makes sense! I bought some biking gloves somewhat last year that were juuust a little tight (the only other size they had was WAY too big) and, much to my frustration, broke the second time I tried to wear them : (

The same is true for me, hand wise though, so I should really take the time to find some proper fitting ones... the ones I used to use don't seem to exist anymore, unfortunately. Bleh...

Muddy but beautiful neighbourhood bike ride. Critters use the roads almost as much as us: I saw footprints from deer, moose, and lots of coyotes (or maybe foxes? I don't know enough to tell the difference from a moving bike)

Ok, wrote a bunch of words in various documents and answered a bunch of emails after my bike ride. Now time to try to move the goat fence before the giant pile of thunderstorms gets here (looks like the poor dog is going to have to deal with thunderstorms YET AGAIN).

@sundogplanets When I was younger I watched documentaries on Coyotes, and I think you are safe. They only exist where there are very high cliffs, and if you saw one, you would likely also see traces of a bomb exploding or rocks falling, bridge going out, or fake road/bridge/tunnel on some rocks. 🙂

Poor goats. I did not get the fence set up before I got a tornado warning on my phone and decided it was time to go inside.

The tornado warnings in Sask often cover a ridiculously huge area...I could clearly see there was no tornado. But there was thunder starting so... poor goats. They will have to wait until tomorrow for new grass. (They will be fine).

@sundogplanets camera trick for lighting shots during a thunderstorm . Set a camera up with manual exposure settings (on a tripod) with a really long exposure time, small aperture (big f number) long shutter speed, or manually hold shutter open, Then wait for a lightning.

The lighting will be so bright it will illuminate the scene.

Just don’t leave the camera or its operator where it will be struck by lightning
