several old PCs and laptops in various states of gutting .

Where in the days of yore we needed a PC for each job, nowadays I can use these newfangled virtualisation magics instead. Less hardware, same (or more) speed.

I know any distro will work. I'm looking for firmware images for that peculiar model and instructions on how to flash as the procedure tends to be arcane and different for each model, AFAIK
