There's a boxed set for the recent version called "Into the Borderlands" that's supposed to cover the same story sitting on my shelf that I need to get familiar with before I torture my kids and spouse with it.

There was a Greyhawk novel about it in the early 00"s. I never read it, just remember seeing it on the shelves.
