@VeroniqueB99 My daughter figured that one out years ago (I think she may also have been about 6) with my husband's phone. Still does it regularly.
If I ever considered using fingerprint authentication, that stopped the first day she did that.

@Wyatt_H_Knott @VeroniqueB99 What's horrible parenting about it? I was pretty damn proud of my kid when she figured that out (also doubled my resolve not to use fingerprint on my own phone).

@wynke @VeroniqueB99 When I was 6 my mom took me to the library every weekend. That's why I can read critically now. When my son was growing up, there were phones, but he was not allowed one until much older than 6. It's why HE can read critically now.

@Wyatt_H_Knott @VeroniqueB99 So let me get this straight. The fact that your child possesses a skill that you (wrongly, in the case of my daughter, I am not making statements about the child the original post was about) assume another child that you have never met does not, based on a totally unrelated incident, and a non-sequitur conclusion about the rest of the life of said child, amounts to horrible parenting on the part of people you don't know?
This does not necessarily reflect well on your own ability to 'read critically'.
