    It’d be nice if the people who OWN THE GDPR would heed that.

        @waider@mastodon.ie legitimately i dont understand cookie banners. people who dont care or cant be bothered will always click accept, and for those who do care its quite often tedious to unaccept every "legitimate interest" thing. the default should just be only essential cookies. instead the default is all cookies. stupid.

          @nowayitsmae see “malicious compliance”. The whole point is for those in favour of silent identity tracking to get the GDPR changed to allow them to continue, by making it seem like the GDPR forces these intrusive banners. It doesn’t.

            @waider The list of third party cookies is quite a who's who of malicious tech companies that have no business being on their website in the first place
