Question for ya'll in the international fibercraft community.
We've been watching a TV show called "Game of Wool - Britain's Best Knitter". Episodes include both traditional knitting and crochet tasks.*
What do you think of this?
*there's also a lot of good sheep footage. Yesterday they crafted an outfit for dogs but what I really hope for is a challenge crafting a Sci-fi inspired outfit for sheep.

@Pepijn Oops, I voted even if I am not in the fibercraft community. (It's fine with me, I even watched it a bit, as the wife was watching it. Occasionally was even quite exciting to see how the contestants did or did not manage to do their assigned task.)

@Pepijn Are there model-train shows? Why haven't I seen them?

Who am I to critique what you do for entertainment*?
What counts is that you found something you both enjoy watching, right?
*Ok, fine, I do this all the time but usually not out loud and it's very much a live and let live thing, isn't it.

@Pepijn sounds almost as amazing as the British pottery show that was half-hosted by a Dutch trans woman

@Pepijn if the host wasn’t so fab, it would be even more horrible. Knitting on a clock is so uninteresting. They should’ve made it more like the Made in Denmark series where designers get several weeks (could be days, though) to make something.

@Pepijn also, it’s pure waste of resources. No one will ever wear/use any of it.

@tml yup! Two seasons of UK TV, at least one (very bad) Dutch one. I watched the UK ones and kinda liked it. Let's just say it's entertaining watching the group work with the model trains more of a setting than the goal.

@Pepijn is season 2 out? Season 1 has DISCOURSE in the fiber community. (I’m assuming it’s season 1 actually as that has dog outfits.)
I found it quite upsetting because knitting on a deadline is physically unhealthy, and the rubrics as presented in the show were totally unclear, which made the judging appear extremely biased. But maybe the participants did get clear rubrics and it was just considered too boring to mention it.

@Pepijn Very all-male, it seems. Well, can't say I am surprised. The other judge is female, though.

@venite But one of the dogs had a little nalbinded traffic cone on its head! There should never be discourse on that.
Yup. Season one.

@tml There's also classic all-male-not-used-to-working-in-groups temper tantrums. At times rather hilarious..

@Pepijn there was zero discourse about the dogs! Just a lot about the internal inconsistencies and worries about the participants getting paid for the pattern kits.

@venite Ah. Just received a DM asking if I'm purposely stirring up shit. Answer is no. This is honest curiosity.
This (https://mastodon.online/@Pepijn/115733964554164313) was referenced, where I also was not in any way trying to stir up shit.

@Pepijn turns out that I meant Danmarks Næste Klassiker (they get three weeks per design), but I truly miss Made in Denmark and want more shows like that.
