@davidrevoy It was "Ignisme!", wasn't it?

@davidrevoy (On a more serious note, if fireball is pyeobolus, then ring of fire would probably be pyrocircus?)
-
@davidrevoy "I also enjoy your company, and can't drink all this tea."
@socketwench @davidrevoy “there’s also some stuff in the fridge I can’t tell if it smells weird.”

@farbenstau "Ignisme!"
Bravo for the old references!
Pyrocircus sounds good. I have later episode already drafted, and her quest for this spell get an answer, I wrote "Ringus Pyrus" on my script, but I'll fix it for "Pyrocircus" way better. Thanks!

@davidrevoy But...but sharing knowledge with other humans is how we used to do it 🥹
@trevdev @davidrevoy On one hand, you have bad human interactions like Stack Overflow and GitHub repository managers closing question threads for no reason. Here on Fedi, rarely I asked a question and got answers (even including the proper hashtags and everything). Then no wonder some people prefer asking AI questions.
But, on the other hand, that wasn't ever a problem for AI to solve, it was a social problem first. Who grew this hostility to people? What made SO moderators so badly looked upon? Why do some people seem to have such a god complex when they have any position of power? Who's gaining with the destruction of human collaboration and human relationships?

@gustavo @davidrevoy having been raised by an "angry moderator" and being frequently told to just go "figure it out," I've benefited from not having to ask questions, and a high anxiety for when I do have to ask questions. I dunno. I think in software people are more open to sharing than in other spaces, because of enthusiasm, but only if you don't come across the wrong* way. As to all of your other questions around that, man, I don't know. Other people confuse me

@davidrevoy To cast Ring of Fire, you must first summon the spirit of Johnny Cash, then find some horn players.

@davidrevoy Designing AI assistants to use natural language, building interfaces that look like message app conversations, even way back when they decided to give early voice assistants human sounding voices (feminine, of course). They deliberately hijacked the human need to socialise,which was one of the most sinister decisions they ever made. Far more, I think, than the whole copyright debacle. sorry, I needed to vent that out.
I hope eventually Cepper can learn to have a real conversation again without it feeling awkward -

@davidrevoy I used to play that song at local restaurants. I and the other lead guitarist would mimic the horn harmonies while the rhythm guy would strum and sing.

@heroicthehobbyist True, of course. The main goal of this scenario for me was to show how her brain become indeed lazier. I wanted to expose her reasons, but I also wanted to break her "too moral" perfect appearance with this plot-twist. I'm starting an arc of her without her AI Parrot!
@heroicthehobbyist @davidrevoy yesss!

@mjc0961 @davidrevoy Nope, me too.

@trevdev @davidrevoy I could comment on that, but the mere fact I'm on an anti-fascist instance and currently listening to a communist video makes me thing I'm not the best person to talk about that (I would answer this in a too biased way, focusing only on the late capitalism related issues and probably ignoring other social issues).
