TRANS PEOPLE in the US: What area of the US do you live in?
-
PACIFIC NORTHWEST (Trans people only): Pick which city or region you live in. Assume I am talking about the general metropolitan area of these cities.
@JoscelynTransient@chaosfem.tw eslewhere: alaska
im assuming we count as pnw since it's the closest -
MIDWEST (trans people only): Pick which city or region you live in. Assume I am talking about the general metropolitan area of these cities.
@JoscelynTransient twin Cities are so weirdly over represented.
-
@ryker_rf5 let people know the region and see if you can find new fedi friends!

@JoscelynTransient northeast, specifically in the region where the local restaurants put Old Bay on everything
-
THE SOUTH (trans people only): Pick which city or region you live in. Assume I am talking about the general metropolitan area of these cities.
@JoscelynTransient hello from southern arkansas... there's a dozen of us down here, at least
-
I realize that I left out Florida and Texas now...Feel free to answer that here if you are in one of those. I suspect it's not the safest to openly identify as trans and living in those two states right now.
@JoscelynTransient I was gonna say Hawaii and Puerto Rico were left out. Florida and Texas are both in the South IMO.

@JoscelynTransient I picked elsewhere, but it's semi-rural. Not as rural as some places, but I live like a mile from a cattle farm and less than that from crop fields.

TRANS PEOPLE in the US: What area of the US do you live in?
I'm curious what regions of the US have the most active trans users on the fediverse. Please respond first to this poll, then find the appropriate follow-up poll and respond too. This is mostly just for our general community curiosity/knowledge as an interesting bubble of trans people on the internet.
@JoscelynTransient you left out the southwest

@JoscelynTransient@chaosfem.tw sad to say that I’m trapped in Texas for the foreseeable future

-
@JoscelynTransient @eruonna I’m trans and in Denver , and unlike @SymTrkl I don’t see myself in the Mid-West at all. That’s a thousand miles away! Mountain West maybe.

@crone Okay but that's not fair, because as far as I'm concerned there's a bunch of states that the Rockies pass through that can call themselves "mountain" over my dead body, so the term isn't really much more descriptive than saying "Colorado."

@JoscelynTransient I don't anymore, but when I did, I was in Chicago.

@JoscelynTransient Detroit (where I live) has a smaller city population and a more geographically dispersed metro area than either city named above. But in my limited experience, it has also been a destination area in the ongoing hostile-state-to-safer-state trans migration.
