A.S.

A.S. Byatt is not for everyone but she will always have my heart. While I'm busy trying to think through storylines and metaphors on the ground, she's building empires I can't even see to see across time and space. Every once in a while I glimpse the larger structure and swoon. In the last 15 pages she's revealed relationships that she's developed and braided together over 3 books. How did she do that, so naturally that it now seems obvious and inevitable, not at all a surprise?

#Writing@Tarnport I've only read The Children's Book and I liked it, IIRC. Maybe I should revisit her.
