    @CiaraNi
    The building is.

    I don't know how to say this, but there has been an unfortunate geological incident. I'm afraid Aarhus is sliding into the sea.

        @EvilCartyen That seems to be the consensus, right enough. I like this explanation because then I don't have to blame my bad posture. Or the tree's.

          @CiaraNi It's not really until you compare focal length on a Real Camera that you find out how much our pocket cameras/mastodon browsers distort things.

            @EvilCartyen That is striking. It's decades since I used a proper camera. I like the freedom of quickly fishing 'the camera I have' up from my pocket for a second when something randomly catches my eye. But there is a difference between a snapshot and a real camera photo, definitely.

              @CiaraNi I have both, but I usually only carry my phone. I like the idea of the proper camera but it's heavy to carry it around.

              I wanted to get a good asp-c compact camera like the ricoh GRIIIx but they're pricey. Still, a good pocketable camera would be lovely.

                @EvilCartyen Same here - hefting a real camera around is too troublesome. The pocketable one sounds good. I'm even lazier than that. I don't even want a light-weight pocket-sized camera. I can't explain it rationally, but I just snap randomly on the fly and if I had an actual camera, it would feel like homework.

                  @CiaraNi I used to feel the same way, but when I was in Rome this fall I discovered that I could not turn off AI "enhanced" auto editing of my photos and that pissed me off. Really infuriating #enshittification.

                  So I guess I have to go back to not using a phone if I don't want HDR and other filters and treatments forced on me....

                    @EvilCartyen Great point. That's another thing that's been enshittified on us. You made me think to check. Even though I've fought off all the AI I can on my phone and never update it, they could still sneak it in. But 'Automatic HDR' and 'colour optimising' are still turned off and I can't see any other unwanted 'enhancement' features, so I think I'm ok for now. Thanks for reminding me of this.

                      @CiaraNi on Android I only noticed it because the photos were clearly being edited as I was taking them, and there was no way to turn it off. If you're on an older version or another ecosystem maybe you have more luck!
