We were actually at the Royal Cast Collection to shoot photos of a battered plaster cast Jesus (more on which later). But I also checked in on various other heroes, kings, deities and mythical creatures – they seemed well! 🙌

@jonassmith oooh what's your real camera? (I'm a bit of a camera nerd, using Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon and even old Polaroid cameras).

Curious to hear about your gear, your photos are incredible!

@jonassmith That IS a strange place to visit.
Most of the building is not very heated or cooled, and the first time I was there was deep winther, and it was literally freezing.

I have a whole bunch of old nikkor lenses, including a 85/1.8 K which is excellent still. I've mostly switched to old D-lenses with auto-focus, but you're making me want to take out the manuals again.

@mjj @jonassmith I probably shouldn't say this out loud, but I didn't know about the Royal Cast Collection until I saw photos shared here in the Fediverse. It has gone straight on to my Must See list next time I'm on Djævleøen. It being very cold sounds perfect - like it would add to the strange atmosphere.

@mjj @jonassmith @CiaraNi It’s an amazing place! Especially if you go with someone who isn’t too easily distracted by nice rears… My first visit was with a friend who was a bit too excited about the sheer amount of good bummage on display!

@CiaraNi @mjj @jonassmith Bummage (noun) A display of bum(s). Ex.: “That plumber gave good bummage!” “Greek sculpture tends to be very short on penile representation but makes up for it in bummage.”

@SorenMRiis Haha, oh that's wonderful. If Mr. Shoulder and Mr. Small are their real names, I'm going to assume that the authors were destined to write this book.
