To boost or to post?
To post unlisted means the same as public visibility, but it won't show up in search results or trending lists or live feeds.
I'm not sure boosting with unlisted visibility is a standard feature yet, it might be experimental?

This is now a standard feature on Mastodon, sorry, I hadn't noticed this.
I need to play around to check but I'm guessing an unlisted boost wouldn't count for trending the post? Trends are based on number of recent boosts.
I can't find anything about this in the documentation or Github so I don't know what the official explanation is.
I'll try to look into this and do a proper post.
