I'm getting more #fediverse pilled the more I learn.

I'm getting more #fediverse pilled the more I learn. Since I've already joined #forkiverse, do I need to make an account on other Mastodon networks as well? Or will I be able to see other servers' posts here?

@Jgreene You'll be able to see posts from pretty much anything here whether it's another Mastodon instance (hi), or any number of other fediverse platforms such as Threads, Pixelfed (like Instagram), Loops (like TikTok), Lemmy (like Reddit), Vernissage (like Flickr)
Finding them sometimes takes a little digging, especially on a newer server, but for the most part they're out there ready for you to check out
If you choose, you can create accounts on any of these platforms or just view them here

@Jgreene Sometimes you're even able to follow some Bluesky accounts that have bridged over as well

@Jgreene
You see other servers' posts from the people and hashtags you follow, and from their boosts (and in the federated feed). You can also follow Lemmy subs, but you may have to search the regular web to find them and do some copy and paste.

@Jgreene Hello from another Mastodon server. You can also read and interact with other Fediverse services such as Pixelfed, Peertube and Owncast. Kinda cool to comment on a video, get a message for an upcoming stream and boost a cool photo all from one service! I've even spotted a few podcasts that are federated.
This is the beauty of open and federated services, there's no-one to put up corporate walls to lock people in.

@Jgreene No need to create any other fediverse account to read or reply to any Fediverse content from any other server….they all just interoperate…and you might have to search for other users or hashtags to explore those other spaces….

No need to.
But it doesn't hurt to create other accounts elsewhere to try.
Or as a back up.
Or for other topics. Or shit posting.

Forkiverse is just a nickname for your Mastodon instance, which is installed and maintained by a classic provider of Mastodon instances. I think Masto.host manages your instance. Forkiverse is not a real network. That's why you're already in the Fediverse and can communicate with everyone in the Fediverse. That's the decentralized vision of the Fediverse.

@Jgreene As others have said, Nope! You just need to explore around and find some cool folks to follow. If it helps, here’s a little “welcome to Fedi” page with links to all sorts of guides and lists of cool accounts. Enjoy!

Welcome!
Suggest you check out @FediTips unofficial guidance on how to interact with other platforms on the fediverse.
Your account is with Mastodon so you can interact fairly seemlessly with people and groupbots on any Mastodon instance (server) that federates with yours.
Other types of fediverse Activity-Pub powered platforms have different functionality — Pixelfed is an analogue to Instagram, PeerTube to YouTube, Loops to Ticktok, Lemmy to Reddit.
Some of these platforms interact more easily with Mastodon than others. or, you may find that you want to have accounts on another platform to create a different kind of content.
There are Anglican/Episcopalian clergy on Mastodon by the way, hope you can find a way to connect.

You just need one account because your server talks to other servers too. For example you and I are having this conversation but we are on different servers
