Two pieces of medical history, these bits of old equipment lay inside an abandoned hospital in Ireland. This building was recently renovated, so I wonder what became of them. They belong in a museum!
The iron lung is a Both Portable Cabinet Respirator from the late 1930s. Designed in 1937 during a polio epidemic,
The hyperbaric chamber is a Vickers Hyperbaric Oxygen Bed System from the 1960s, for pressurised oxygen therapy.
