Re-reading Carolyn Miller's "Genre as Social Action" (1984) and Anne Freadman's "Uptake" (2002) for my class tomorrow. Some people are just so much better than you that you really can't even manage jealousy.
I've read them many times before, they still teach me things I didn't know.

That's the best recommendation I've ever read.Also, I know that feeling - when you can't even manage to be jealous. It's a great place to be - profound admiration.
It might be beneficial to them, but it is even better for those of us who feel that emotion. I firmly believe it is a deeply humanising feeling.
