Found a baby squirrel that fell out of the tallest oak on the grounds here.

Welp. I went out in the dark and I had high hopes the mama had managed to grab the baby because the box was so light! But...

After everything I looked up, he would not have survived the night outdoors in that box. So I had to make the decision to bring him in.
He wanted to live. He was awkwardly toddling across the grass squeeping so hard. -

Ok I need internet help regarding the squirrel baby, please boost. [Update: got the clip via the community here!
]
I have done ALL stuff recommended, rehydrated him, but he is so skinny and so hungry. Trying to re-nest him according to instructions. He's in the container attached high up to tree. He has a warm Rice Buddy. I put peanut butter & walnuts on tree & basket to attract mom. I am ready to go get formula ingredients. I have wildlife care number.

I don't want to waste his few remaining hours of life sitting up there silently and uselessly. He is too weak to cry now.
I have been desperately looking for a SHORT!!! MP3 to download but of course there's no way to actually search anymore and I am very frustrated and upset.
I found MP3s online, but no way to download. I found hour-long loops. I can't put that in my portable device! I found videos I could download but only as MP4.
*SUCCESS! Thank you all for help, I think this should do it!*

Okay! The sound is audible and looping!
I have not heard back from the wildlife rehab yet. But now I can run out for the goat's milk & yogurt.
I don't know if he is even still alive in there
but if so I will take him down and feed him when I return.
It looks like someone DID come and take the peanut-butter smeared walnuts, though.

I was able to get the goat's milk. Much travail, but I got it! I really hoped the baby would have been retrieved, but he was still there, synthetic squeeping still looping.
Amazingly, he was also still alive! I gave an even 50/50 chances we'd be having a funeral or a feeding. But he was still breathing. Poor little boop.
Squirrel elixir has been compounded, and the first feeding accomplished. Finally.

Thanks to everyone for the assistance; maybe the mom didn't retrieve him but now I feel like I at least tried everything.
Still no reply from the wildlife rehab.
️
But at least now I have reliable food for him! -

I am pleased to inform everyone that little Jarrito is doing very well on the goat's milk formula, sleeping and digesting, he even had his first real healthy poopie today.

He's about 70g now so he gets about 4.5cc's of the goat's milk formula every 3-4 hours. His ribs don't look gaunt any more.

You know what, it's only just now occurred to me that it could be the reason this little guy's mama was not retrieving him...she could have been the one taken by that hawk!
What made me think of this, is remembering some other tenants entering the building when I was out, and hearing one of them say "Circle of life!"* as they looked up at another nearby tree with the hunting hawk perched in it.
(*An exclamation denoting the witnessing of unnecessary death.)

Finally got ahold of the wildlife rehab today! And they have directed me to another wildlife facility...that is two+ hours' drive away.
After this already super-packed week I have CE trainings all day Friday and Saturday, and I was supposed to be doing another six-hour home study CE Sunday.
But work starts up again Monday so I guess I have little choice but to take a six-hour trip instead.
️
Hopefully my car will make it!

OMG cuteness overload...I see a tiny shiny corner where one eye is beginning to open!
So he probably is between 4 and 5 weeks old. He's been a lot more active today, too. Walking around his little bin with a lot less wobble all of a sudden.

Jarrito has both eyes open! Somebody is now bright-eyed if not exactly bushy tailed!
He's so excited at all the new visual input.
But he's also now startled by our appearance, hulking beasts that humans are.

He is gonna be hopping right out of that bin any second now that he can see there's an "out there" there.

Today he's around 75g, up from 60g last Saturday. (!)
I meant 60g to start! Not 50g. But he still has increased his mass by 25% in, what, five days??

Jarrito got a nice warm bath tonight after his second dinner! I could have used a mug for his tub. He keeps being smaller than I think.
All cleaned up and a clean change of bedding and a clean sock for his rice buddy.
