@jgrg Don't tell it I said this, but it's a handsome bird
@CiaraNi It is. I wanted to identify it because it looks different to anything I've seen in the UK. Its dark eye makes it look a little more kind.
-
@CiaraNi I swear they're up to something...
@rvedotrc Haha, so well done
-
@CiaraNi I've heard something similar about ducks, but not seagulls. A combination of Anatidaephobia
https://www.fearof.net/fear-of-ducks-phobia-anatidaephobia/ and the Fregoli delusion? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fregoli_delusion@CiaraNi or perhaps it is just the same seagull... It's not paranoia if you _are_ being followed.

@jgrg I hadn't thought of the difference between them in different territories. Interesting. "Its dark eye makes it look a little more kind." That's a lovely observation. Agreed - the yellow eyes make gulls seem more 'malevolent'. When they're attacking you, especially.
-

@benjaminlj Ha yes, and maybe it's not a phobia either because it's a *rational* fear, because seagulls are bloody ferocious when they're after something

@CiaraNi if you carry food near one or more seagulls, then yes, you are in danger

@benjaminlj In constant danger, so, because the seagulls are everywhere i midtbyen

-
A faithful companion, my seagull. Following me around even at sunrise.
@CiaraNi Reasonably sure this one is a blacked headed gull in the middle of transitioning between winter and summer plumage or an immature adult. Their heads are only black in summer once they’re breeding age.
-
Seriously
@CiaraNi if you have any photos where the tag is legible you may be able to find out this bird’s history.

@aimaz I took this photo in late November, if that helps?

@CiaraNi your bravery in the face of danger is admirable!
-
So many of my photos have a single seagull in them that I'm starting to wonder if it's the same seagull, stalking me around the world.
@CiaraNi it's Mågens!

@aimaz I hadn't even noticed it had a tag! This is the only photo I have. I just tried to zoom in on the original but it's not legible. Nice suggestion, though - thanks for mentioning it.
-

@benjaminlj I will brave any battle if it's to protect my lunch
-
I like the fact that the signs in Cornwall say Beware The Gulls. As opposed to Beware Of The Gulls. Beware The Gulls sounds more ominous, more chilling, more 'these creatures are demonic, you are in grave peril'.
@CiaraNi Sounds like a good bandname as well.
-
@CiaraNi it's Mågens!
@mk Mågens - haha, that's perfect

@NousZLD Ha yes, it would be!
