    This illusion was new to me. Does whichever dot you look at turn more purple?

    Pretty neat how clearly this lets you see the reduced sensitivity to blue light in the very centre of your vision.

    @Danpiker Aha! It did not work for me on my old 2010-era emachine monitor, but when I dragged it over to my brand-new Asus monitor the effect was immediately noticeable.

    Edit to add: On the older monitor, the color of the dots matters a lot more on my angle to the graphic. My first thought was that the top row looked much lighter! But that changed if I lifted myself a bit higher.

      @itgrrl @Danpiker

      Using my laptop with no night mode or colour blocking, it doesn't work for me. Maybe some brains are wired differently.

      @TrueNorthSpice @itgrrl It can be about your electronics, too. I can see the effect on my new monitor, but not on my old one.

        @Danpiker Oh, wow. It does, and incredibly quickly and intensely, too.

        @mwichary @Danpiker Same. My experience is super trippy, close or far. The effect is immediate and distinct when I move my eye. Could be all that time staring at the sun.

          @wcbdata @Danpiker Using a laptop. Yoga 910. Quick duck search leads me to believe there's no such filter on its screen. My night light shift software isn't on.

            @Danpiker oh that one is cool! I also have never seen this particular one.

            @claudius @Danpiker For me, it's even more weird. If I focus on one of the dots, all the other slowly fade out until it's completely blue, except the one I'm looking at.

                  @Danpiker This worked for me. Sometimes two or three dots on the same row would appear purple. If I keep my focus fixed on one dot the others often disappear.

                  (MacBook Pro monitor.)

                    @Danpiker I had the same issue as others, of being unable to look Only at one dot. When I stopped trying and just let my vision kind of skate between them though, they All started turning purple, which was cool. (Will mention I have both visual processing junk and non-Blind visual disabilities, but maybe anyone who switched focus often enough would get this?) ... Now I'm trying to figure out how to determine the periodic exposure necessary to maintain purple for all, oh no! ...rolls nerdily off

                      @Danpiker

                      The longer I look at a particular dot the more the other dots disappear completely into the blue background, although that last remaining dot doesn't turn more purple.

                      If I look at the whole field I can also see faint green shadow dots that move as I move my eyes, and which also disappear into the background. 👀
