Trump says USS Lincoln’s deployment was ‘not nearly long enough’

Trump on Friday dismissed claims that families of #ServiceMembers aboard the #USSAbrahamLincoln have concerns about conditions aboard the aircraft carrier, which has been deployed for nearly 9 months supporting #TrumpsWar in #Iran.

Instead, Trump claimed the ship’s lengthy deployment had in fact not been long enough.

Even more brain-breaking: recently overheard a kid talking about how he'd signed up for [military] & was waiting to start bootcamp.

I was good. I kept my trap shut. But mentally I was screaming, "Are you out of your freaking mind??" Though I suppose it's possible he's a True Believer, in which case: "Are you out of your freaking mind??" (At least he wasn't signing up for ICE?)

(Though I've heard the economy is driving fresh recruitment, which 🤬)

The USS Lincoln is not the only ship on a war footing whose sea duty has been overextended, with insufficient support from the Navy and Pete Hegseth's Pentagon.

I assume that's because Whisky Pete was too busy combing through files at the Bureau of Naval Personnel, looking for women and people of color to fire.
