Goodbye ozone layer, it was nice while it lasted. There will be lots of other atmospheric consequences and casualties on the ground if SpaceX actually launches and burns up a multi-ton satellite on average every few minutes, as they plan to do. Also goodbye astronomy research, goodbye night sky, and helllooooo Kessler Syndrome!
@sundogplanets Why are they still doing those things instead of fulfilling their actual contract with NASA to build a lunar lander?

@sundogplanets My understanding about the ozone layer is that chlorofluorocarbons or CFCs used in (or as) refrigerants were eating it away until they were banned and replaced by less lethal (to ozone layer) refrigerants. Since then, the ozone layer has more or less recovered. So, are you saying this operation with satellites will once again threaten the ozone layer?

@sundogplanets the O3 layer is at risk again now?
Is it time to start placing morbid bets on if it's rising sea levels from climate change, UV from O3 depletion, dehydration due to H2O use by data centres, or nuclear winter which ends humanity?
Because I don't see a happy ending, or even a prosperous future for us.

@sundogplanets So we lose the Ozone layer and New Zealand and Australia become uninhabitable either from the increase in radiation, or the difficulty of food production because of increased radiation

@StarkRG @sundogplanets Frankly, I get confused which company is doing what anymore. Having said that, I believe Starship is also essential for a moon landing.

@fuzzface @sundogplanets Blue Origin is also building a lander and, with the pace SpaceX isn't going, I suspect BO will get it done first.
