@janl thinking of offering a community service where local businesses can ask me whether this twist on make x y again is fine and I just have an autorespender that always says no because if you're unsure it's probably bad.

@janl @LaChasseuse yeah, that’s what I thought as well… a great message diminished by a cringe slogan

@janl it is logically a regressive sentence structure, I see the appeal but those days are long gone

@metacosm @janl @LaChasseuse I see what you mean but while I'm quite sensitive to the “Make ... again" slogan, the “Let's make … again" didn’t actually trigger my immune response. The “Let's" helps, I'm ok with it.

@janl sorry. I guess I only have a very partial view of your replies.

@janl palingenetic phrases do not look very appealing when palingenetic ultranationalist rule is happening next door. especially when it follows the form of the one the fascists rose to power spouting

@janl and of course, we can never ever reclaim anything from the fascists, so the best thing to do is avoid anything they have even breathed on like the plague and rigidly police anyone who even tries

@janl along similar lines, don't proudly wear the insults they make up for you.
"The left is CRAZY!"
"That's right we are CRAZY--crazy about justice!"
it's not the masterful reversal you think it is y'all

@janl Didn't even see their use of it when I watched, that's disappointing.
