Two very interesting and important section headers:
> “Robots are actually more alive than we are” is a core belief in our society
> We’re never going to space so AI is what we’re doing instead
It is really really great and explains so much. cc @davidgerard @pluralistic

@chx @davidgerard @pluralistic I've always said that conservatives love the Founding Fathers, unborn babies, God, and the "silent majority" because they don't speak for themselves so conservatives can shove words into their mouth.
Same for robots and "AI".

@chx @davidgerard i appreciate the warm glow of a fellow hater but this ends up being criti-hype in a weird way, like here he cites a paper by an actual waymo engineer to repeat the "safer than a human" lie about AVs (which they have enormous financial incentive to spread as widely as possible). don't accept their claims and don't do their work for them!

@AlSweigart @chx @davidgerard @pluralistic That's exactly right, and because of decades of this propaganda women and girls are now in many states legally mere hosts for non-sentient clumps of cells that are central to the agenda of stealing rights from women and girls
When the right wing idolizes something you must immediately ask what are they trying to steal from you using this thing that only they can speak for

seems to me to be the world view of an indoor cat. There ARE outdoor cats and there is a fair chance to make an indoor cat an outdoor cat. But there is no way back without suffer.
Smoke a cigar, smell the first rain on freshly mowed lawn, ... stop thinking. Even humans have an addiction to the real real. Guess society originally had been a tool to stretch these moments of sensing the real.
The absence of natural "outdoor noise" provokes this social hospitalism AI. -
