Hire Italian postdocs, they'll make Tiramisu!

[dacmot@sunny.garden]

@vicgrinberg and nicely decorated too!

[slothrop@chaos.social]

@vicgrinberg Cool!

Now I want tiramisu, but getting a PhD seems like a very roundabout way to go about it?

[lisp1984@mastodon.social]

@vicgrinberg i love tiramisu. i used to have a baker make it for me. i have not had it in well over a decade. i miss italian rice pie as well. italian wedding soup i miss although i would want a vegan versio of it nowadays.

[zynmaster@troet.cafe]

@vicgrinberg I work at a radiology practice. Our interns are from Poland and Egypt; we have piroshki and baklava right now.

[_thegeoff@mastodon.social]

@vicgrinberg Jupiter bottom right and Saturn top left....Enceladus top right with the plumes? Titan bottom left in keeping with the planet/moon balance and atmosphere?

[mengel@mathstodon.xyz]

@vicgrinberg If you are interested in what other countries to consider: our postdoc brought avocados from his parents' garden in Chile.

[leonieke@squilla.vitaulium.eu]

@vicgrinberg o wow, but this cacao powder design! chef's kiss

[brunthal@mastodon.social]

@vicgrinberg

Would it be rude to print this out and put it on the office doors of our Italian (and French) postdocs?

[bashstkid@mastodon.online]

@vicgrinberg Next stop, is French or Italian fondue better? (Wars have started over less)

[bordfunk@norden.social]

@vicgrinberg @stefano what does the expert say?

[stefano@mastodon.bsd.cafe]

@bordfunk @vicgrinberg totally approved!

[maikueper@mastodon.social]

@vicgrinberg That’s one thing I really dislike about my field of work: hardly international at all.

[phosphenes@glasgow.social]

@vicgrinberg

This happened to us once too. We had an Italian intern who visited upon us a hand-made tiramisu.

I think it is a requirement in their passports.

[bigben@troet.cafe]

@vicgrinberg Austrian doctoral students make a hell of a punch!

[sandorspruit@mastodon.nl]

@vicgrinberg @DanielleVossebeld Leave it to the Dutch to bring in the stroopwafels

[oblomov@snowfan.it]

@_thegeoff @vicgrinberg I'm wondering what Internet Explorer is doing there in the middle though

[lumiukko@metalhead.club]

@zynmaster @vicgrinberg I think they cheated you out of the good stuff, ask for "Romoosh el Set"

[vicgrinberg@mastodon.social]

@slothrop but worth it!

[vicgrinberg@mastodon.social]

@zynmaster ooooh, super nice, too

[vicgrinberg@mastodon.social]

@_thegeoff heh, possibly. Also, ESA had a mission to Titan (Huygens probe of the Cassini Huygens fame) and we are planning one to Enceladus! https://www.science.esa.int/web/cm25/l4-to-enceladus
