@_elena it angers me that VDL and Lagarde jumped on this bandwagon apparently without any vetting – just based on some weird backroom Davos connections and apparently hold themselves too good for and too high and mighty for a presence on the open democratic #fediverse.
They should plusOne the Fediverse.
#plusOne@leanderlindahl the lack of vetting is truly shocking. I also have plenty of tips about faulty, inadequate security. At this point I could write a NOVEL about W Social, but I'm exhausted and stressed out from reporting about this, so hopefully back to writing about the Fediverse now. Happy things!

@aleksei they only host their PDS in Europe. From their FAQ:
"W operates European owned infrastructure for key parts of its service, including Personal Data Server infrastructure, moderation services and other platform components. During the public beta, however, some user experiences and services may continue to rely on shared or third-party AT Protocol infrastructure, including components originally developed by Bluesky..."
