Some good ways to watch the moon flyby today, starting ~1pm:
    - NASA live stream https://www.youtube.com/live/m3kR2KK8TEs
    - NASA app has an interactive 3D view (AROW) https://www.nasa.gov/nasa-app/
    - timeline https://www.nasa.gov/blogs/missions/2026/04/06/artemis-ii-flight-day-6-crew-ready-for-lunar-flyby/
    - another nice timeline view https://charbonzickpean.com/artemis2mission.html

@faden they likely use same process as on ISS. The Outlook client doesn’t connect to a POP or IMAP server, NASA pushes files into the Outlook directories. And they pickup files for outbound documents from laptops. Not sure what sort of protocols they use to remotely manage laptops but it isn’t IP based.

@Daveography Also it really struck me how addicted to smartphones we are a species when I saw that they designed a special smartphone pocket in their space suits.

@faden @Daveography Oh, so there is hope that one of my next Bluejeans could have a smartphone pocket that is really useable. (See, Levi‘s had watchpockets since 1873, but no one is using pocket watches anymore since the 1930s.)

@faden Moonlanding in 1969 needed a computer restart inside the Moonlander . Remember error code 1202 on AGC . However Neil shut down AGC before landing by own hands .
Not sure how this plot would end with Artemis 3?

The most surprising radio message of the Artemis II would be: "We have landed successfully" …

@faden for years and years Microsoft was stating in their EULA not to use their software for mission critical systems. Did they remove it? Or is Nasa violating terms of service?

I remember that warning came on a card in the box. That always comes to mind when I see news of airports/public infrastructure crashing because of Windows.

I sincerely hope, the landing procedure will not be interrupted by an automated critical security patch or some license code input popup.
