It’s funny isn’t it?

It’s funny isn’t it? We observe the destruction of society and environment by billionaires. We observe the destruction of OSS by tools of billionaires used in idiotic ways.
The moment one decides to actively fight back, to not say “pretty please stop that”, that’s a problem.
Protest: ok only if it does not hurt. A strike that hits? Oh dear please not. Color on a super yacht or a yet? How dare you. A prompt injection? You monster.
It will get worse before it gets better, I am sure.
@rotnroll666 And when you get active, you feel like you’re on your own, and you start to wonder if you might have been better off investing the money you pay to the union in stocks instead.
It’s hard to find people who share your mindset, and you don’t want to leave your circle of friends behind either, because they’re nice people.
However, the big events at Hambi and in Lützerath gave me the most energy. Thanks to everyone who was involved there.

@rotnroll666 the question is: How much more worse can it get?
And I guess, sadly, a lot!

@rotnroll666 The entitlement on the other side is off the chart

@rotnroll666 Yes, I find it super sad, that it's currently as you describe.
I wish more people would/could take the side of those who dared to actually *do* something. (could also observe that a bit when I was still in DE in the realm of Letzte Generation)
@gazebo_c @rotnroll666
Letzte Generation (Last Generation ) is still treated like terrorists. There is nothing more to be said about germany.
I admit, there are many people supportive, but the majority is more concerned about a speedlimit on highways and expensive flight tickets.
And isn' t it convenient to let AI create the next primary school newsletter, or the hangout for the school play,
Convenience and ignorance will mark the end of our species.

Obviously, there's an innuendo towards #jqwik in the above post.
Think about it: I need to protect all my sites that don't just deliver plain HTTP files with #Anubis these days. Non of the fucking #AI scrapers obeys robots.txt (the equivalent of "pretty please"). Anubis is reasonable on my resources, but tough on users resources.
I can very much understand that people just have it and actively fight back. Can't win otherwise on unequal ground. The other party broke the moral contract first.

@rotnroll666 Tbh I'm just waiting for someone to put a crypto miner into an #Anubis look alike...

@rotnroll666 I've been thinking about this post a lot. I am a father and husband and while I may owe my family and especially my kid a lot, I do not want to owe them a future in debt because of legal costs or a father in prison. The system has me. I have no reasonable way to fight back.

@oli @rotnroll666 there are always ways to take a stance

@rotnroll666@mastodon.social i recall some blog post suggesting putting a zip bomb in an invisible link (with text marking one should not follow the link) as a measure to stop crawlers not respecting robots.txt, but i can’t find that post now.

@xarvos Which in turn might also be seen as a terrorist counter attack.
But yes, indeed.
This exists for example, too

@rotnroll666 we could have an antifascist anarchist revolutionary insurrection internationally and rid the earth of fascism, capitalism, colonialism, racism, imperialism, statism, oppression and repression instead, as that would fix numerous problems humans and animals face on the daily... very simple, very easy.
