@anneapplebaum People in the USA should not forget that the people in #Greenland belong politically to Denmark but most of them are #nativePeople of the #Inuit: https://iwgia.org/en/kalaallit-nunaat-greenland/5393-iw-2024-kalaallit-nunaat.html

Metaphorically: How does one take the gun away from the toddler? Even the Daddy who gave it to him is ducking and covering. “Hehe, he’s just playing….i think.”
When we all see him an banoonoos we are following the distraction. Grab him by the Epstein and be done with it already.
Also: yes, please buy California. I would like to travel, but hate baggage claim.

"If the invaders were Russians, they would arrest all of the politicians, put gangsters in charge, shoot people on the street for speaking Danish, change school curricula, and carry out a fake referendum to rubber-stamp the conquest. Is that the American plan too?"

Exactly this. Because Trump wants America to be like Russia. He'll send ICE and put all Danish people into labor camps. And Peter Thiel will be the governor.

@Firlefanz @anneapplebaum Of course it’s violently repulsive to even think of the US invading Greenland, so I get that part, but ”Danish” is not a relevant description of the typical Greenlander.

@anneapplebaum He believes the ONLY reason he didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize was because, as a super human uber deserving white man, he was a victim of reverse discrimination, and that no talent Latina unfairly got his prize. Machado thinks he should owe her for gifting her prize -- he just sees her as a thief who stole his honor.

@NatureMC And they have also been subjected to contemporary colonial crimes by Denmark.

It’s perfectly possible to keep two thoughts in one’s head at the same time: it would be an unfathomable crime for the US to invade Greenland, and Denmark is a colonial power who should not exercise power over Greenland.

@anneapplebaum Thank you for showing US citizens the whole real desaster.

People in Europe don't believe anymore that he or his puppeteers will be stopped. In most peoples' eyes here (with the exception of the far-right), the USA have become a rogue fascist state.

The only thing we can do is protect us against the Kremlin and the White House (same danger now). Or buy California 🤫 https://denmarkification.com/

Can we buy shares in some way, I would quite like a small part of California.

Maybe some of the bricks of the coit tower in SFO, or part of the bay would be nice, Alcatraz? I may never get to go there again, the way things are going.

                P.s. I joined up !

@ahltorp I understand your objection, especially that one can think two thoughts at the same time! My linked article speaks about that Danish colonisation and racism.

On the other hand, I fear that a sideshow of arguments could give the American government - which cannot think two thoughts at once without delirium - evil ideas. Imagine if they were to play the role of ‘liberators’. The Nobel Prize addict, you know ...

@anneapplebaum you know, I saw how it unfolded in Russia. I remember Putin's sweet songs about democracy and shared values - he had very good speech writers. For a very long time, he tried to maintain a solid image.

Now it's so bizarre seeing how blatantly inadequate Trump is, how fast he is moving, and how little people seem to care.

This still leaves open as to what the Nobel prize has to do with Denmark.

I expect him to demand that Australia give him the Alps in the near future.

They are showing him AI generated videos that he doesn't know are AI, but he also has had trouble distinguishing fiction from reality for years.

@anneapplebaum so many things were meant to be that. The rape accusations. The mocking disabled people. Every other sentence out of his mouth. The riots, the insurrection, the taking WH documents, the nepotism, the more rape allegations and clear proof, the lies, the stealing, the wall, the Files, murdering people in open water, pals with Putin, the Gaza strip video, the everything

It goes on and on and on and nothing changes

@noodlemaz @anneapplebaum I hear what you’re saying — many of these issues have been widely reported and debated, and for a lot of people they seriously undermine trust and accountability. It’s exhausting when the list keeps growing and yet consequences seem limited. That frustration is understandable, even if people disagree on interpretations or responsibility.

@Melissa37 @anneapplebaum lest we forget the email from the evidence stack that places him at the scene of an infanticide and the covering up of said crime.

Every accusation a confession. Every single one. Thousands dead and missing after ICE has disappeared them.
MILLIONS dead because he gave the wheels of government spending to Elon fucking Musk, who dismantled USAID. He's a mass murdering tyrant. That people just let this stuff happen is unconscionable.

@AnneTheWriter1 @anneapplebaum please don't use the dementia hashtag, it is for people caring for family and seeking information.

My apologies. I will remove the hashtag for the disease itself, but not for Donald's nickname. I've seen four relatives go through it, and it terrifies me that no one in the media is even talking about it and no one in power is trying to stop him. Everyone needs to quit ignoring it with him.
