@inthehands Look at the pain in that face. Those eyes tell a tale. She is suffering. I am rather pleased about that, not only is she a transphobic hate mongering pathetic human but her stories are crap too. They were always crap. Half the ideas were knockoffs. Her other stories are cringe.

The entire company of Hogwarts would be against JK Rowling's anti-trans agenda.

@inthehands this is so despicable. I usually don't support LGBTQ or even care, but funding something anti is totally despicable
@epistomai @inthehands LGBTs need support. Not bigots.

@inthehands Hot Take: Joanne hasn't produced a good story since 2000. The first few Harry Potter installments were kind of interesting but the series quickly devolved after the novelty factor wore off and some of her more problematic ideology started shining through. I have been able to sample some of the newer "Fantastic Beasts" films and... Boy are they terrible. This is one boycott that will be easy to for me to follow (especially since I stopped wanting to give her money and attention around a decade ago).
That take isn’t all that hot.
I haven’t cared about Harry Potter since I was a kid and her books under the Psudonym Robert Galbraith weren’t very good either. -

@inthehands Sony still offers me Harry Potter for free. I still refuse to play it, and I refuse to click on it. Anyone using my console is warned they are not allowed to install that shit on anything I own. As far as I'm concerned, that franchise is like cobalt. If I could block content by title, I would. It just occurred to me, I haven't checked if I can at least hide it from my PS Plus.
I would be mortified to have that shit on my account history or trophy list.
🫂️ for all y'alll
️⚧️️It is extremely funny to me that Steam is offering it at 85% off. Given how big its launch was and how expensive it was to produce, seeing it degraded to shovelware prices so quickly is deeply hilarious.
(I haven't bought it and I won't, for the reasons you've outlined.)

This.
I don't think JKR understands the community that they helped create.
I enjoyed reading the books at the time, as I like the SF&F genre. I would re-read them but I am also pro
and the two don't equate to me wanting to buy more from this franchise. -

people like her and musk and their ilk could be living the most spectacular lives, but instead they wallow in hate and apply endless time energy and money making the lives of other people miserable in different ways
they are dangerous and pathetic
despicable

I know this point has been made before but Harry is her.
Aside from that one time he bought Ron a chocolate frog, despite having unlimited wealth and despite practically adopted and living with Ron's family, despite being written as feeling awkward when confronted by the comparative poverty, Harry does absolutely nothing to help Ron or his family. Their lot is to be poor, his is to be wealthy. -

It's not because you agree to a hot take that it makes it less hot

Quite remarkable

@bigblen @inthehands She sold her soul - If she ever had one - to the noseless one a long time ago.

she chose Robert Galbraith as her nom-de-plume when she tried to prove she could be a successful adult writer.
So perhaps? -

I don't know, I think I'd make a great billionaire. I'd buy a castle in Scotland and donate to wildcat rescues. And have a herd of house cats. And not have a social media. And leave trans people alone. Maybe even use some of that billions to give money to an org that's helpful to trans people. This is the alternative universe JKR I wish we'd gotten.

@epistomai @inthehands LGBTs need support. Not bigots.
@canleaf @inthehands The other way around. The world needs no bigots, for whatever reason. If there were no bigotry, no support may be needed, not only for LGBTQ. Women could study in shahira countries, no hunger in North Korea and dictatorships, no harassment and racism in usa, and the list goes on and on

@vreer
Fanfic in which major characters are trans is one of the few forms of public engagement with Harry Potter I can wholeheartedly condone — especially if it’s over the enraged objections of whatsherface. -

@inthehands@cambria @jillL @inthehands unless money really does rot the brain and you only think you'd do those things because you're not a billionaire.

@arazil @inthehands maybe u are not the demographics she plans to tap into...that stuff is for kids like 8 to 12 yo...
@fnord99 @arazil @inthehands even when I was a literal child I came to the same conclusion tbh. And anyway childrens media should not be shielded from legitimate artistic criticism just because people think children are too brain-dead to tell the difference between good & bad media. It turns out the "masses" of all ages are, which is why criticism can be useful & help consumers make better & more fulfilling choices about media instead of chugging down whatever slop is currently being pedaled.
