        @ana
        There was an Omaha Nebraska USA datacenter that had been built in a dead mall... not sure it's still there.

            because, contrary to what most people here think, AI is , and this is true, a very powerful tool that helps a lot of people get their work done

            @failedLyndonLaRouchite @ana we can argue about whether that is true or not. but even assuming that is true, that doesn't fix the massive social, ethical, political and environmental issues with this technology

              Because that would've required some creative thinking, which they proved they have none of lol

                not sure, but I think ana has blocked or muted me, so I can't see the OP
                but I don't understand your post

                my point is very simple: contrary to what many here think, AI is, today, a very powerful and very useful tool.

                you can call me a fool or knave or liar, but that is what I and a lot of other think

                that doesn't mean that *overall*, that AI is a net benefit: I dont know much about that

                I do think this is the spectrum where you and "a lot of other" are, yes. You're either grifting, getting grifted, or being discarded in the AI game.

                  @ana they tore down a mall and plan on putting a data center there near me. So yeah, that definitely fits.

                      @ana Because you can enter a mall and peek at the rubbish, before you buy it. While with "AI" datacenters the slop is randomly mixed by some algorithm before it's sold as gold.

                      @luc0x61@mastodon.gamedev.place @ana@starlite.rodeo Wrong way around: It is first sold as gold and then randomly mixed <img class=“not-responsive emoji” src=“https://pleroma.envs.net/emoji/drgn/drgn_blep.png” title=“:drgn_blep:” />
