Affinty partners, an investment firm founded by Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is a major investor in Israel. Their logo also looks like something I'd see on a contemporary national socialist group. What's that symbol called? It's related to the triskele, but this is a specific version of it. #AffinityPartners #JaredKushner #NaziSymbolism #BDS

#PostmarketOS@kaalogkartofler These symbols are so old that having the logo or referencing it isn't necessarily a problem. (And personally, I find the triskele beautiful). I always get at least a bit wary and uneasy. Or rather, it raises some questions. The very fact that all kinds of people and organizations use the symbols, is also a great thing to hide behind. It is ambiguous by design. Context is everything though. And given Jared Kushners politics, I can't help thinking it could be a dog whistle.

@craftyguy The answer to your question is in the two toots previous to yours. I asked a question about the meaning of that symbol in the logo and @kaalogkartofler gave an example of where it has also been used. Do you know the meaning of the logo for PostmarketOS?

@malte @kaalogkartofler Interesting, ya I don't see any toots before the one I replied to earlier
️
pmOS's logo looks similar to the recycling symbol, because the project aims to help folks re-use old hardware (phones, tablets, smartwatches, computers, etc) to keep them out of landfills. We definitely are not associated with whatever the hell jared and his cronies are doing.

@craftyguy Aha, I didn't consider the recycling association. That makes sense. Did you ever consider that the logo could reference the triskele? That's the reference that pops in to my mind. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Triskelion @kaalogkartofler
