I think here in Denmark, if the government rolled military forces into the streets of major cities, that government would not survive long. There would be mass strikes, blockades and other initiatives to force the government to resign.

@malte @randahl @benroyce the US population is distributed differently than Europe, and resulting infrastructure is both different and less easy to shut down en mass. If a protest closed downtown Chicago, the vast majority of the metro population would barely notice except for media reports (social or otherwise). Protests do sometimes shut down a highway, but other than causing some slowdowns the traffic reroutes onto other highways. Could infra get shut down? Sure, but harder/different.

@mwyman Some of the most impressive logistical blockades the last decade have happened in the US, for example the harbours on the West coast a few years ago. We just haven't seen that action this time! Every overdeveloped society has it's weak logistical links and the US has many. @randahl @benroyce
