@dirkhh It's the void!

@simonzerafa @dirkhh *winks from halfway across the ash zone*
I told someone to watch out for the ash hole earlier and they got quite upset

Don't worry, it's just a fever. It will go down, once the infection plaguing earth is killed off.#climatechangeistnotaboutsavingearthitsaboutsavinganearthhumanscanliveon

@dirkhh most probably they predict a vulcanic eruption tomorrow …

Well they got the colour of West Wales about right. Quite toasted today 🥵
@simonzerafa @dirkhh yeah. Nothing on but the aircon and it's still really hot

I hear you. As I said, there are fairly simple limits to what A/C can do.
But with the difficult choice of "promote the essential-to-humanity unlimited growth of AI data centers" and "do the absolute bare minimum to try and slow down climate change", it's obvious that a well bought politician needs to accept option 1...

@afeinman
As you can see in my alt text... I do think that the color choice of essentially "ash" for the center is pretty instructive...@dirkhh it's been bothering me why they've all gone past dark red to grey, ash was obvious

@dirkhh that charred black looks accurate, tho

@dirkhh I know and you're right. I'm just being sarcastic. In all probability and these heatwaves continue for the next decades, the warm gulfstream will collapse due to melting glaciers on Greenland adding to much fresh water to the AMOC.
In that case Western Europe will get the same climate as Canada. Much dryer and colder...But the heat as a global energy will stay on the planet. Nothing will be cool anymore, even without the golf stream.
And yes, I "joked" (despite apocalypse not being funny) with a colleague that even regarding temperatures "40 is the new 30": when I was a kid, we talked about 30°C as we now do about 40°C.

@dirkhh I'm a little confused. The black and grey parts in the image extend all the way to Ireland. While it's warm here, it's still just the mid twenties here on the East Coast, maybe pushing 30 in the center. Nowhere near the horrific 40 degree heat as seen in France etc.

Black should be reserved for Exxon Heat, that killed 600 in Canada and 1500 in Mecca.
India has thousands of unreported deaths, kept secret by Trumpist Modi government, if you have access to Indian, or any country's Exxon Heat Deaths please reply.
